Sandra Ulbrich Almazan (1)Help me give a warm welcome to Sandra Ulbrich Almazan, my guest for today. Her new book, “Seasons’ Beginnings,” is available for purchase at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Today, Sandra’s got a quiz for us to take, “What Type of Avatar Are You?” Let’s find out!

In the world of the fantasy Season Avatars series, gods and goddesses gift chosen mortals with Their power. These gifted people are called Avatars. The country of Challen has Four Gods and Goddesses, each with their own type of Avatar. If you lived in Challen, what type of Avatar might you be? Please take this short quiz to find out.

1. What’s your favorite season?
a. Spring
b. Summer
c. Fall
d. Winter
e. I don’t have a favorite.

2. What’s your favorite color?
a. Yellow
b. Green
c. Red
d. Blue
e. White

3. What type of magic would you prefer to have?
a. Healing
b. Plant magic (making them grow)
c. Animal magic (communication/healing)
d. Weather control
e. The ability to make magical artifacts

4. What role would you prefer to have in a group?
a. Leader
b. Devil’s advocate
c. Mediator
d. Conscience
e. Teacher

If you answered mostly “A,” you would be a Spring Avatar and serve the Goddess of Spring. She would grant you healing magic and the ability to create a telepathic/magical link with Avatars from the other seasons. The Goddess of Spring is the leader of the Four Gods and Goddesses, so you would also be the leader by default.

If you answered mostly “B,” then you serve the God of Summer as a Summer Avatar. You would make sure harvest comes at the proper time. This is especially important because Challen is under attack by the demigoddess of Time, and She likes to mix up the seasons, creating what’s called Chaos Season. Without your magic, everyone in the country would starve.

If you chose mostly “C,” then you would become a Fall Avatar and honor the Goddess of Fall. She would grant you the ability to communicate with all types of animals, command them to obey you, and heal them. You might even gain a special animal companion of your own.

If you answered mostly “D,” then you are a Winter Avatar and serve the God of Winter. Your ability to control the weather is vital for undoing the damage caused by Chaos Season.

Did you wonder why there were five answers to each question if there are only four Gods and four types of Avatars? If you chose mostly “E”, then you are like Kron Evenhanded, the hero of Seasons’ Beginnings. Kron is an artificer, able to create magical devices. Unlike the Avatars, Kron was born with his magic and did not receive it from a deity. However, due to Kron’s love for one of the Avatars and his experience in dealing with the demigoddess of Time, the Four choose him to teach their new Avatars how to use magic. Will he be able to mold twelve strong-willed but inexperienced magicians into a force strong enough to defeat the demigoddess of Time? Read Seasons’ Beginnings to find out.

No matter which Avatar you chose, I hope you enjoy Seasons’ Beginnings. If you were unable to pick an Avatar, then perhaps reading the Season Avatar series will help you decide which one you like best. Thanks for taking the quiz, and thanks to Roxanne for hosting it!

You’re most welcome, Sandra. Check out the blurb below for “Seasons’ Beginnings” and more about Sandra!

Seasons rgb, FINAL, med, low res (1)

Between gods and humans stand Avatars…and him…

Kron Evenhanded is an artificer, able to enchant any man-made object, but he finds people more difficult to work with. When he visits the city of Vistichia, he encounters Sal-thaath, an extremely magical but dangerous child created by Salth, another magician Kron knew at the Magic Institute. Kron attempts to civilize Sal-thaath, but when his efforts lead to tragedy, Kron is forced to ally himself with a quartet of new deities and their human Avatars. Together they must defend Vistichia as Salth attempts to drain its life and magic. But Salth has Ascended halfway to godhood over Time. Will Kron’s artifacts be enough to protect the Avatars, especially the woman he loves, or will Time separate them?
