Balticon

Back On The Air

Well, my 10-part series as a guest on CUTV News Radio ended earlier this week, on April 10th. A few days later, I got a call asking if I would again be a guest, this time for an 8-part series. They liked me that much, I suppose. It’ll be fun working with Jim and Doug again. I’ll be doing one of the shows from Balticon, so I suggested that we have the theme for that show be conventions. I have no idea what else we’ll talk about–we did the The Underground and The Moreva of Astoreth during the last set of shows, so I guess we’ll just have to see. It’ll be good for me to have to think on my feet. I used to be excellent at it, and I like to think I’m still pretty good, but it’s really a matter of keeping in practice.

And now, on a different topic, I’m gratified that my readers like The Moreva of Astoreth so much that they’d like to see a sequel, or at the very least, another book set in that universe. But I really do have to finish the sequel to The Underground first. It’s been very patient with me. Between The Moreva of Astoreth and The Underground Second Edition, the sequel has been in the drafting process for about four years. Now it’s the sequel’s turn to be completed. I hope to have it out sometime in 2018–maybe in December.

That’s what’s up with me at the moment. How about you?

The Return

Back from Balticon 46! So much good energy–I feel really pumped. Did a couple of readings from The Underground, which were well received. Compliments are so gratifying, you know? It’s like what I’m doing isn’t in vain, that I really have the talent to do this. I admit I didn’t spend a lot of time going to panels. When I wasn’t on a panel, I was at the Broad Universe table, handing out swag and convincing other women writers and artists to join. It really is a great group. For all you women writers of speculative fiction, you really ought to consider it. There’s a wealth of knowledge to be gained, and contacts to be made. Here’s the URL: http://www.broaduniverse.org. Now, on with proofing the Underground!
