Well, my 10-part series as a guest on CUTV News Radio ended earlier this week, on April 10th. A few days later, I got a call asking if I would again be a guest, this time for an 8-part series. They liked me that much, I suppose. It’ll be fun working with Jim and Doug again. I’ll be doing one of the shows from Balticon, so I suggested that we have the theme for that show be conventions. I have no idea what else we’ll talk about–we did the The Underground and The Moreva of Astoreth during the last set of shows, so I guess we’ll just have to see. It’ll be good for me to have to think on my feet. I used to be excellent at it, and I like to think I’m still pretty good, but it’s really a matter of keeping in practice.
And now, on a different topic, I’m gratified that my readers like The Moreva of Astoreth so much that they’d like to see a sequel, or at the very least, another book set in that universe. But I really do have to finish the sequel to The Underground first. It’s been very patient with me. Between The Moreva of Astoreth and The Underground Second Edition, the sequel has been in the drafting process for about four years. Now it’s the sequel’s turn to be completed. I hope to have it out sometime in 2018–maybe in December.
That’s what’s up with me at the moment. How about you?
Boy. The amount of money I’ve shelled out since starting this venture. My IRA is really taking beating. I’m going to owe taxes out the ying-yang for 2016. I’ll probably have to raid my IRA again just to pay them. And then I’ll have to pay in 2017…unless, as I’m repeatedly told, I get speaking gigs, which pay a handsome amount. And maybe The Moreva of Astoreth will become a bestseller. I sure hope so. I hate to think I’ve bought a pig in a poke. What’s really troublesome is that I’ve yet to see anything–press kit and all that. Now I’m told I need flash drive business cards. Another huge amount of money.
At least there’s one good thing. In order to do this, I’ve put most of the charges on my Discover card, and then immediately paid it off. So when all is said and done (and I hope it’s done) my balance on Discover will be zero. And I did say I wanted to pay them off this year…
